February 5, 2012 Speaker: Joe Walser Series: Mark

Topic: Biblical Passage: Mark 1:29–1:45

Who is Jesus and what is my response?
1.God is stronger and mightier, He is sovereign! Daniel 4:45; Isaiah 46:10; Proverbs 16:33; Romans 8:31-37.
God is mighty to save whom He will save and mighty to heal whom He will heal.
God is both sovereign and He is good.
2.Gods first order of business is to restore all things to the headship of Jesus Christ.
*Colossians 1:15-20
3.Relationship between demons, Satan and sickness. Mark 1:34; Acts 10:38; Luke 13:16
4.Direct relationship between to leprosy and sin in the narrative of scripture in this text and all of scripture. Leviticus 13:3,8,45-46 Physical and spiritual disease. Ephesians 6:12
-Rejoice over about the healing of Jesus:
1.Jesus is the mightier, mighty to save. Psalm 2:2-4
2.Jesus is sovereign and has power over the sickness that Satan and sin has cause in dwelling humanity.
Balance:
1.Simone Peter has his mother in-law healed.
2.Ticked off that Jesus goes off to pray. Mark 1:35-37
3.Follow Jesus and He will make you fisher of men. Jesus proclaims that gospel
4.Jesus tells the leper to keep their mouth shut.
-Your going to get sick and die.
*Ecclesiastes 11:9; Isaiah 53:4-6
