Remember, Rally and Proclaim: Mark 14:12-25
July 29, 2012 Series: Mark
Topic: Biblical Passage: Mark 14:12–14:25
Theme: With each observance of the Lords Supper, we experience of Jesus Christ as our true and better Passover Lamb. The one who sacrifice we remember, around whose cross we rally and whose death we proclaim until He returns.
Rebuilding the Kingdom:
1.Remember what Christ has done!
2.Rally around Passover, Christ, Church, Mission and each other.
3.Proclaim the Gospel in both word and deed.
*Exodus 12:1-51 Passover, plagues, elements, Lamb and unleavened bread.
Who is this Man? (Disciples question) Jesus fulfilled the promise of the new covenant, Jesus was declaring it to them (disciples).
1.Passover provided a model of what would become as the Lords supper, so the Lords supper provides us as the church with a model for how we are to carry out our mission today.
2.Just as the Jewish people celebrated Passover to remember what God had done for them in the exodus, so we remember what Jesus did for us on the cross each time we celebrate the Lords Supper.
3.Just as the Jewish people rallied around the Passover as a unifying event, so we rally around Christ and each other as we fulfill the mission to which we been called.
4.Just as Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples as the fulfillment of Passover, so we proclaim His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sin until He returns.
