Holy Week: It Is Finished

April 7, 2019 Speaker: Joe Walser Series: Holy Week

Topic: Easter Passage: John 19:30–19:30

“Let me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man like Satan and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger--someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.” Mark 3:27 NLT
1 Corinthians 15:57 (ESV)
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 8:36–37 (ESV)
As it is written,
For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
2 Corinthians 2:14 (ESV)
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
John 19:30 (ESV)
When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Colossians 2:13–15 (ESV)
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
This is about YOU...and in Christ and on the cross, all of our enemies (sin, death, powers, and principalities) have been defeated. Good Friday is an amazing day...it is your V-DAY!This is the real question: How do you step into the reality of GOOD FRIDAY?
Hebrews 2:14 (ESV)
Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
GOOD FRIDAY: 3Rs
1. REALITY: You are a victor not a victim
2. RESOLVE: Think of these things
3. RENEW: Renew your mind
