April 21, 2019 Speaker: Joe Walser Series: Holy Week

Sunday
A Weekend Like No Other POWER
BEST GOAL EVER
Goal: We all want to live the fullest, most joy filled, meaningful, and purposeful lives together with with people we love and who love us!
or
We want the BEST version of ourselves and our lives with others that we can possibly have!
Ecclesiastes 3:11a (ESV)
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart....
Introductory Thought
We are hoping by faith that we are choosing the thing(s) that will achieve that goal!
Most Important Easter Question?
Does the thing that we have chosen have the power to get us there?
1 Corinthians 1:17–18 (ESV)
For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Romans 8:11 (ESV)
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Ephesians 1:18–20 (ESV)
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
The Power of the Weekend Like No Other
1 Corinthians 15:3–8 (ESV)
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.
The Power of the Weekend Like No Other
1. We access POWER by being reminded where to put the bullseye...
1 Corinthians 15:1 (ESV)
The Resurrection of Christ
15 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,
2. POWER never comes from you...it comes from God
3. Unique to all other philosophies, religions, self-help gurus, how to books, FB, Instagram, Oprah, your bff, your ex, your job, your degree, your money, your inheritance, etc... THIS IS THE ONLY REALITY WITH THE POWER TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL.
The Power of the Weekend Like No Other
1. Relationships
2. Money
