Jesus the Storyteller: A Moment of Clarity

Preacher: Jeff Walser Series: Jesus The Storyteller Scripture: Luke 15:1–10

Parable: A story that uses indirect communication to subversively dismantle our wrong values and understanding of the Kingdom and changes the way we view the world (His Kingdom).

Luke 19:9-10

Luke 15:1-10

3 Themes:
1.) The desperate condition of the lost
- the sheep is helpless
2.) The urgency of the search
- there is no way the coin will find itself
3.) The joy of rescue
- God has joy whenever a lost soul is found

"The wandering of a human soul causes Jesus deep sorrow. He cannot bear the thought of one person perishing. Such is the love and tenderness of his heart that he cannot bear that one of his own should be in jeopardy. He can take no rest as long as a soul for whom he shed his blood on the cross still abides under the dominion of Satan and under the power of sin. Therefore the great shepherd neither night nor day forgets his sheep." - Charles Spurgeon

2 Questions:
1.) Have you been found/rescued?
- It time to "close the laptop", to act on the moment of clarity
- Matthew 11:29-29
2.) Are you seeking the others that Jesus is seeking?
- Be a disciple making disciples

"Wherever we go, we either bring people nearer to Christ, or we repel them from Christ. We are working for the great kingdom of God." - Eric Liddell

A moment of Clarity
- Have you been found?
- Are you seeking those who need rescue?

Action step:
- What is your moment of clarity?
- What are you going to do about it?
